Role Overview: As the Receptionist in NYC, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors. Your role will be crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing appointments, and providing excellent customer service. You will support the store's operations by handling administrative tasks, assisting with sales transactions, and ensuring that our front desk runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Greeting & Assistance: Warmly greet customers as they enter the store and ensure they feel welcomed. Provide information on dress styles, fabrics, and prices to customers.
Phone & Email Management: Answer and direct phone calls promptly. Respond to emails and inquiries in a timely manner, providing accurate information and scheduling appointments.
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule appointments for customers to try on dresses and follow up appointments. Manage the store's appointment calendar and ensure all appointments are properly scheduled.
Clerical Duties: Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and creating estimates and invoices for customers. Maintain organized and accurate customer profiles in the Google calendar.
Sales Transactions: Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash and credit card payments, and provide receipts to customers.
Dress Fittings & Alterations: Assist with booking dress fittings and alterations. Coordinate with the store’s seamstress to ensure appointments are scheduled and handled smoothly.
Office Supplies & Inventory: Manage office supplies and inventory, ensuring that the front desk is stocked and organized.
Store Events & Promotions: Assist with store events and promotions, including coordination and setup. Support visual merchandising displays to enhance the store’s appearance.
Mail & Packages: Receive and sort mail and packages. Distribute items to the appropriate staff members or departments.
Fashion Trends: Stay up-to-date with current fashion trends to provide informed recommendations to customers.
Compliance & Support: Ensure compliance with store policies and procedures. Provide general administrative support to staff as needed and assist with special projects.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other store staff to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in a retail or fashion environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Proficiency in Google Suite and Google Calendar.
Basic understanding of fashion trends and bridal industry is a plus.
